Her Excellency Margaret Muthomi, First Lady of Tharaka Nithi County and patron of Njiwa Jiinue Initiative, today presided over the reception of assistive devices designated for persons with disabilities within the county.
The ceremony, conducted in Nairobi, represented a collaborative partnership between Njiwa Jiinue Initiative and Partners For Care, a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities. During this event, Njiwa Jiinue Initiative received the inaugural consignment of specialized assistive equipment designed not only to enhance mobility and independence but also to facilitate economic participation among beneficiaries.
The donated equipment comprises tricycle carts, walking aids, insulated storage units compatible with the tricycle carts, standing support devices, adult wheelchairs, and rollators. These devices are specifically configured to enable users to engage in income-generating activities while addressing their mobility requirements.
Partners For Care has maintained a significant partnership with Tharaka Nithi County, particularly through their support of the Njiwa Jiinue Initiative. This collaborative project has demonstrated substantial impact in transforming the lives of county residents and advancing community development objectives.
